A social enterprise is a business which has been set up purely for the social good and gain, rather than for profit. At Zakat House, we are working to encourage and cultivate social enterprises so that humanity may benefit.

The impact of social enterprises

Research carried out by UnLtd, a charity which supports social enterprises, has shown that starting a social enterprise not only carries a positive effect on the community it serves, such as creating jobs and training opportunities; but also presents the entrepreneur with confidence and leadership skill, accompanied with a sense great accomplishment towards social change.

Social entrepreneurship doesn’t just benefit communities; it can also help you expand your goals, horizons and achievements.
